Three Straightforward Reasons I Choose The Medela Pump In Style Breast Pump.
As a mother who has had to pump up to 30-ounces a day in order to keep up with my baby boy I can attest to the speed, and efficiency of the pump in style. While on vacation, I misplaced the membranes to the Pump In Style which were necessary to work. Considering my breasts were about to explode, I purchased an Avent Isis pump. The Isis was fabulous on the fly, or for a weekend away; however, the Medela Pump In Style breast pump was a cut above in speed and in magnitude. The Pump in Style breast pump helped me to express 16-ounces in 20 minutes, whereas the Isis took nearly twice the time for almost half the output.
Preferred Comfort:
Using a breast pump takes two thing; time and rehearsal. It will be painful if your nipples are sore and cracked. I used some PurLan breast cream after each session, so I never experienced trouble. The Pump In Style accommodates smaller and large chests akin. Small breast shields are provided as well as generous breast shields for choice pull, and comfort. The suction is alterable, and the manufacturer recommends that one start at the lowest speed. I quickly graduated to the highest speed, which made for very effective pumping.
Breast Pump Set-up & Sanitizing
Setting up the Pump In Style is so easy compared to the Isis pump. There are 5-simple steps in all, and it takes 2 to 3-minutes tops. Make sure the tubing is fitted securely, and that the membranes are dry and laying flat. Then Commence pumping. After each and every session, dismantle and wash. Most of the parts included in the accessory kit are dishwasher safe and can be used in a steam sterilizer also. Although the membranes and tubing should be washed by hand only. If you do run the Pump In Style through the dishwasher, store the valves in a basket to protect them from the heat.
