Numerous Young Guys Who Work In Construction Exhibit Hazardous And Excessive Drinking And Require Alcohol Rehab
I work with quite a few young men who work in construction who manifest heavy drinking. After working exceptionally hard for eight or more hours, it seems to make a lot of sense to go to the local drinking establishment to have a drink or two with one's fellow workers. Often, however, it seems that the well-intentioned few shots and beers turns out to be a situation in which quite a few shots and beers are consumed, a lot of cash is spent, and several hours are spent at the local tavern rather than spending time with their friends, family, or with their wife or girlfriend.
How complicated can it be for these construction workers to realize that excessive and heavy drinking usually results in marital, relationship, and friendship difficulties? Why are these alcoholism and alcohol abuse signs so difficult for my hard working buddies to see?
Does it truly surprise anybody to realize that my hard working pals eventually complain about alcohol-related health problems such as alcohol poisoning, a loss of energy, sleep disturbances, and hangovers? Is it actually astounding that many of these construction workers are beginning to experience various mental health difficulties like depression? Why can't these construction workers "see" these alcohol abuse and alcoholism signs?
Regarding the drinking behavior manifested by these construction workers, the main idea is that honesty is needed. Indeed, my hard working pals, not unlike others who involve themselves excessive and heavy drinking, need to look at themselves in the mirror and make a factual assessment of what excessive and heavy drinking is doing to their mental health, to their jobs, to their health, to their relationships, and to their finances. In a word, my hard working pals need to realize the signs of alcoholism and alcohol abuse exhibited by their excessive and heavy drinking.
These construction workers need to get motivated and enthused about wanting to make a beneficial change in their lives. More to the point, these construction workers need to get motivated to go to their physician or to the local alcohol treatment facility and discover whether or not they are mainly abusing alcohol or if they are alcohol dependent. Based on the information that is brought to light, these hard working men then need to get the alcohol detoxification and the alcohol rehabilitation they need.
The good news is that there's a vast number of rehab programs, treatment centers, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and drug and alcohol treatment clinics where these construction workers can get first-rate rehab for their drinking behavior. And with some exertion, it's even possible to find drug and alcohol treatment clinics, treatment centers, rehab programs, hospitals, and rehabilitation facilities that are fairly inexpensive.
There were evidently times in the past when first-rate help for alcohol abuse or alcohol dependency was far less available and more expensive that it is now. Due to the significant increase of alcoholism and alcohol abuse in the past fifteen or twenty years, however, an alcohol addicted individual or an alcohol abuser frequently has few, if any, common sense excuses for failing to come to terms with her or his drinking behavior.
In point of fact, to start the change process all it routinely takes is a phone call to one's family physician or to somebody at the local alcohol treatment facility. From that point forward, long term sobriety requires follow through, commitment, and a sincere desire to change one's negative style of life.
