An Instructor Encourages His Students To Learn About Alcoholic Symptoms, Signs Of Alcoholism, And Symptoms Of Alcoholism

Mr. Johnson was one of the health lecturers at a small rural junior high school in the Southern part of the U.S. For "Alcohol Alertness Month" he decided that he would focus on the following three topics for a class project: the symptoms of alcoholism, alcoholic symptoms, and the signs of alcoholism.

After Mr. Johnson completed the topics that would be assigned to his students, he made up his mind that he would present their assignment the following Wednesday morning. When "assignment day" finally arrived, Mr. Johnson met with the students in his classroom, disseminated some pertinent research literature, and then told his students about the topics he selected.

He then gave the students in his class an overview of some noteworthy signs of alcoholism and highlighted how necessary it is to become skilled at figuring out how to associate these statistics, facts, and symptoms with the real-life situations of alcohol addicted people. He then gave his class a brief description about the relevance of learning more about alcohol dependent individuals and how they function on a daily basis.

Mr. Johnson told his class that they could concentrate on one of the three topics or discuss all three topics and how they are interrelated. In effect this would be analogous to a general overview but done in a more comprehensive manner.

Another option that he presented to the students in his class was the following: pick a topic such as alcoholism symptoms and signs, inquire into things in a more wide-ranging manner, and then go over three or four symptoms and signs. Mr. Johnson then mentioned that the same rationale applies to the other two topics, namely, the symptoms of alcoholism and alcoholic symptoms.

The end result of their examination would be a ten thousand word research project and then a ten minute oral presentation that would be presented in front of the class. As recognition for their superior academic accomplishment, those with the top five overall grades on the research project and on the oral presentation will be invited to present the results of their research at the district alcoholism and alcohol abuse symposium during the last two weeks of May.

As articulated by Mr. Johnson, since there are numerous alcoholism symptoms and signs to select, he mentioned that he was not too fretful about several students choosing the same symptoms and signs for their research project. Indeed, even if multiple students were to decide upon identical symptoms and signs, the examples that are related to each sign or symptom would surely add enough variety to avoid two or more pupils presenting the same content.

Mr. Johnson then mentioned that while there are many alcoholism signs and symptoms that could be picked, the total number of alcoholism facts and statistics that could be discussed were almost limitless. When the topic of alcoholic symptoms was added to the discussion, moreover, the students apprehended fairly rapidly that the three topics would provide a vast amount of material from which to choose.

Why did Mr. Johnson pick the signs of alcoholism, the symptoms of alcoholism, and alcoholic symptoms as the topics for this assignment? Mr. Johnson thought that by augmenting the comprehension of his students about the unhealthy effects of alcoholism and the dismal lifestyles suffered by alcoholics, his students might think more wisely before they got mixed up with excessive and hazardous drinking behavior.
