Jacquie was recognized at work as an extremely conservative person who had an outstanding work record. Just before finishing their discussion, the Human Resources manager informed Jacquie that it was quite positive that she doesn't seem to have any long term alcohol effects. The Human Resources director stated that this is relevant because according to some of the most recent alcoholism statistics and facts, the long term effects of alcohol not only diminish an individual's health, but that they can also wreck most, if not all important relationships the problem drinker may have.
Jacquie thanked the Human Resources manager for his supportive and stimulating words and then took the elevator to the organization's employee's assistance program to discuss her "driving under the influence" arrest, her involvement in excessive and hazardous drinking drinking over the weekend, and her interest to employ a DUI lawyer to represent her "driving while intoxicated" case. After listening to Jacquie's narration, the therapist that was part of the company employee's assistance program described Jacquie's immediate "action plan" that she needed to address and follow.
