A Married Couple Becomes Nervous About Their Abusive And Excessive Drinking And Deliberates Whether They Display Any Alcohol Dependency Signs

Lenny and Angie have been married for four years. They wanted to have some excitement and fun before they decided to have a family and so they willfully established a very vibrant social life.

The basic problem, it needs to be underscored, is that practically everything they do with their family and friends somehow includes drinking. For example, all of the happy hours, dinner engagements, sporting events, family get-togethers, and parties with friends they spend time at somehow include drinking.

If they were occasional drinkers this wouldn't be a big issue. Given the fact that they drink in an irresponsible manner, however, they are starting to take note of some clearly identifiable alcohol-related problems in their lives.

As an illustration, a short time ago Lenny received a second DWI and has been ignoring responsibilities at work because of alcohol-related health issues. Moreover, Lenny's last three performance reviews at his place of employment have been less than creditable and he has begun to fail to remember what he does or says when he drinks. Finally, Lenny has been having sleep-related problems and his family has begun to get apprehensive about his drinking behavior.

Similar to Lenny's situation, Angie has been feeling dejected about life and to handle these feelings, she has been drinking more repeatedly than any time in the past eleven months. Not only this, but Angie has been experiencing more than a few migraine headaches and experiencing terrible hangovers because of her drinking. Lastly, Angie has been feeling much less active when she awakens in the morning, she has been getting to work late at least every other day, and she has been receiving some well-deserved criticism from her coworkers, friends, relatives, and family members about her careless and excessive drinking.

One Tuesday evening while watching the television, Lenny and Angie stumbled upon a captivating program about alcohol facts and alcoholism facts in general and about alcoholism signs in particular. This television program was a real bombshell to Lenny and Angie because numerous alcohol facts that were gone over appeared as if they were indubitably associated with numerous drinking difficulties Lenny and Angie had been going through.

With thoughts of the TV special still imprinted in her mind, Angie asked Lenny if some of the alcohol dependency signs they have been displaying could be a warning that they are alcoholic or possibly becoming alcohol dependent. Lenny didn't know the answer to Angie's inquiry and so he suggested that they schedule an appointment with one of the therapists at the local alcohol rehab center to find out more about the severity of their drinking difficulties.

Paradoxically, although their drinking behavior hadn't yet changed, it was noticeable that Angie and Lenny were at the very least tackling their drinking problems, they were excited about finding out more about their drinking circumstances, and they were concerned about how they could appreciably decrease or get rid of the drinking-related difficulties that had started to go from bad to worse.

When Lenny and Angie went to bed that night, they determined that the next morning, Lenny would call and schedule an appointment for both of them at the drug and alcohol abuse rehab center located in the next town. After they made a promise to one another that they would do whatever it takes to overcome the alcohol-related problems that had emerged in their lives, they truly had the most refreshing night's sleep they could remember in the last three years.
